Joy Meribe

Nigeria / Italy

Born in Nigeria, Joy Ijeoma Meribe graduated in foreign languages and literature before moving to Italy, where she caught the fashion bug while doing a master’s degree in business studies in Reggio Emilia. She founded her own label in 2017, favouring a feminine, elegant silhouette.

“I’m inspired by the strong women in my family. They made me believe in myself and gave me the confidence to achieve even the most impossible dreams.”

Fall/Winter 2023

A collection in the name of normality far from the times of a pandemic. The AW 22/23 collection by JOY MERIBE goes through various phases of fashion, inspired by the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s. This collection was born from the desire to dress women in generalwith elegance and femininity, bringing a little colour in their wardrobe.

This collection is the fruit of committed development and research of a recognizable style which Joy Meribe is known for, and the essentiality that comes from her second passion after fashion: nature. These pieces are romantic with dresses with soft lines obtained with light fabrics, combined with prints exclusively created by the designer and precious embroidered lace.

Meribe worked with high-end silk mill Taroni and collaborated with designer Andres Caballero to develop her collection.

Spring/Summer 2022

The collection that made fashion history. In September 2021, Joy Meribe became the first Afro-descendant designer to open the official Milan Fashion Week proceedings.
